Learning by playing: the digital revolution in the children's room

Playing becomes learning, and learning becomes digital: apps for learning languages, robots that teach children programming and interactive kits are conquering children's rooms, because parents have learned that the new technologies and media don't present a danger, but can in fact be enormously valuable for early childhood education.

They can, for example, already learn languages perfectly at an early age with the new media. Apps like Lingumi are specially developed for children of preschool age, and playfully and age-appropriately teach, for example, English as a second language.

Another area in which the new media plays an important role: STEM – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. With unique ideas like the wooden robot Cubetto or the interactive handicraft kits of the London start-up "Technology Will Save Us“, children are introduced to technology, programming and the sciences, and in this way playfully develop precisely the competencies that will be essential in the society of tomorrow.

App for the first foreign language: learn English with Lingumi

Toby Mather knows: "Two to four-year olds have twice the learning capacity of adults. In the phase prior to school, important pathways in the brain can be activated, which later open up many possibilities for children, from learning languages to concentration and creativity."

With his company, Mather has developed the app Lingumi, which finds the basis for its approach right here: in 10 to 15-minute lessons, preschool children learn English together with their parents, and thanks to the playful approach, in such a way that an "I have to learn now" feeling doesn't even arise.
