There were around 1,000 sellers in this premiere selling show in Basel, Switzerland, which started 05 February and ended on 14 February, who showcased and sold their products ranging from food, fashion, arts & crafts, multimedia, house building components, among others. Over 300,000 public visitors had been recorded.
After the Philippines, Russia was supposed to be the next guest country at Muba 2010 but the Russian Ministry cancelled last minute. Hence, there was no guest country this year. Nevertheless, the Russians are re-scheduled for next year.
Generally, the result of the Philippine participation is from fair to good. The Swiss market offers huge opportunities provided the 'right' products are brought. Thus, the challenge is identifying the perfect product varieties for the succeeding Muba events.
For Muba next year, we envision to organize not only a collective participation from the Philippines but also from Indonesia, Vietnam and possibly Thailand; these countries are already in the circuit of trade fairs in Europe, complementing the Muba date.
